“We’ve lost a couple of people – dying right out here in these streets, freezing to death” - Ella Scipp, LICH

News 12 Long Island’s Cecilia Dowd caught up with Ella Scipp, Senior Street Outreach Specialist at the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.  Ella was at the Brentwood train station conducting outreach to unhoused community members living unsheltered in this dangerous weather.  In the clip below, Ella works with Radimez, who has been living on the street for eight months.  Ella is part of a team of outreach workers and case managers at LICH who meet people where they are living, provide essential items, and offer emergency shelter with the ultimate goal of connecting with permanent, supportive housing.
