LICH 2023-24 Annual Report Released on Giving Tuesday!

Each year, #GivingTuesday helps kick-off seasonal philanthropy, and the Coalition was proud to release our Annual Report for the occasion! LICH 2023-2024 Annual Report

Dear Friends of the Coalition,

It seems impossible that 2025 is just a few weeks away and the most festive time of the year is upon us. Like a flipped switch, the weather has turned colder, and this December has become a reminder of the wonder of the season and, at the same time, of our fellow Long Islanders who do not have warm homes to comfort them, healthy food to eat, or family and friends to celebrate with. With this in mind, I am humbled to launch our 2024 Year-End Giving Appeal today, on #Giving Tuesday.

There are many reasons to consider giving this time of year: we are grateful for what we have, we feel good supporting those in need, and we know that everyone can use help at various points throughout their lives. We also know how hard people work on Long Island - directing your giving is an important decision. We are proud of our work at the Coalition, and therefore, we want to show you our impact.  I am pleased to share our 2023-2024 Annual Report with you.

The most compelling stories included in our 2023-2024 report are ones of recovery and hope. For example, William's story: aging and street homeless for several years, he is now housed with his close friend, who was also homeless. Or the story of Carlos, told by one of our incredible case workers. Carlos lived in his car and needed medical intervention for life-threatening illnesses. Carlos, now housed, received the help he needed through our Street Medicine Program. You can read about Back Pack Pirates, our annual one-day summer camp event for children living in shelters.  You can also learn more about our organic garden, The Boutique and pantry. These programs are made possible through the contributions of caring Long Islanders like you.
