The 36th Annual Keys for the Homeless Conference, held on December 19th at the Marriott Melville, brought more than 200 professionals, partners, colleagues, and friends together to convene on the most pressing issues around homelessness on Long Island, New York State, and nationally. Together, we participated in informative and meaningful workshop sessions, celebrated our 2024 honorees, and prepared to roll up our sleeves for 2025. A big thank you to our conference sponsors: Concern Housing, Family Service League, Help Suffolk, S:US, Ørsted, Valley Bank, RiseWell, and Legal Services of Long Island.
We'd also like to mention how grateful we are to our education partners, Stony Brook University, St. Joseph's University, Hofstra University, and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County. And special thanks to Stony Brook University’s School of Social Welfare, which provided three CEU credits to Licensed Master Social Workers who attended the conference. Our Helen Martin Scholarships, which assist students that have experienced homelessness on Long Island and are enrolling or are currently in college or trade school, were generously co-sponsored by United Way Long Island.
In addition, our workshop presenters represented some of Long Island's best organizations and services, including the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office, CEC Health Care, Empire Justice Center, LaSalle School, Martin de Porres Youth & Family Services, OLA of Eastern Long Island, ERASE Racism, Central American Refugee Center, Family Service League, #SameHere, and Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.
Finally, thank you to our inspiring Keynote Speaker, Tracee Henneke from Mobile Loaves and Fishes, and our incredible Conference Planning Committee, led by the amazing Val Chamberlain from Family Service League. Check out pictures from the conference below and see you next year!
